Paul has 20 years of experience developing laser systems, LiDAR systems, and nonlinear optical systems in the aerospace and automotive industries. In lasers, his specializations lie in the development of diode-pumped solid-state lasers, fiber lasers (including directed energy through SBC), and tunable single frequency optical parametric oscillators. Paul has served as an individual contributor and technical manager on a wide variety of interesting development projects and NPI efforts. While at Advanced Scientific Concepts (a world leader in flash LIDAR), Paul served as the project manager, technical lead and lead laser engineer developing the guidance, navigation, and control LIDAR for NASA’s OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample and return mission. While at ASC Paul also served as the technical lead on other space related LIDAR development programs such as Boing’s CST-100 STARLINER, designed to replace NASA’s Space Shuttle program for resupply missions to the Space Station. At Lockheed Martin Aculight, Paul served both as a technical product manager for pulsed fiber lasers and as a senior laser engineer on many novel development efforts.
